YUAN graduated as a Ballet major from the Shanghai Dance School in 2009 and continued the study at Shanghai Theatre Academy. He worked at the Academy’s Youth Dance Company in 2013 before joining Shanghai Ballet in 2015.
Repertoire credits include: principal roles in Bright Red Star (ZHAO Ming), The Lady of the Camellias (Shanghai Ballet Version, Derek Deane), The White-haired Girl, andGiselle; important roles in Romeo and Juliet (Derek Deane),Echoes of Eternity (Patrick de Bana), and The Nutcracker (Shanghai Grand Theatre Version, Derek Deane); important solos and leads in Swan Lake (Grand Version, Derek Deane), Coppelia, The Sleeping Beauty (Shanghai Ballet Version, Derek Deane); performed inJane Eyre (Patrick de Bana), Hamlet (Derek Deane), A Sigh of Love (Bertrand d’ At), The Last Mission of Marco Polo (José Martinez), The Burning Youth (LIU Ligong), etc.
Selected award credits include: Gold Award of Junior Division in the 10th Tao Li Cup Dance Competition (2012); Bronze Award in the 7th CCTV Dance Competition (2013); Gold Award in the 5th Shanghai International Ballet Competition (2016).
