FAN Xiaofeng

Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 1989, FAN became a dancer of Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 1996 and was promoted to be First Principal Dancer in 2004.

Repertoire credits include: principal roles in Swan Lake(Grand Version, Derek Deane), Coppelia(Pierre Lacotte), Giselle, La Sylphide(Jean-Paul Gravier), The Nutcracker(Shanghai Grand Theatre Version, Derek Deane), Romeo and Juliet (Derek Deane),The White-haired Girl, The Butterfly Lovers (XIN Lili),Bright Red Star (ZHAO Ming),Jane Eyre(Patrick de Bana), A Sigh of Love (Bertrand d’At), The Last Mission of Marco Polo (José Martinez), Hamlet (Derek Deane); important roles in The Sleeping Beauty(Shanghai Ballet Version, Derek Deane), The Lady of the Camellias (Derek Deane), The Burning Youth (LIU Ligong); Grand pas Classique, Pas de Deux inDon Quixote, Serenade(George Balanchine), La Valse (George Balanchine), contemporary pieces Water, La Danse du Stravinsky, Grand Pas du Bach, Red Fan, The Horizon, etc.

Selected award credits include: Silver Prize of Junior Division in the 1^st Shanghai International Ballet Competition (1995); Gold Medal of Senior Division in the 19^th Varna International Ballet Competition, Bulgaria (2000); Second Prize and Best Pas de Deux Award in the 2^nd Shanghai International Ballet Competition with her partner SUN Shenyi (2001); Special Prize of Organization Committee of the 8^th China Dance Lotus Award (2011); Best Female Dancer of the 9^th /10^th China Dance Lotus Award (2013, 2016); Best Supporting Role of the 27^th Shanghai White Magnolia Stage Performance Award (2017).

Other credits include: “Shanghai New Star of Culture” (1999); guest principal dancer of Australia National Ballet (2004 - 2005); performed at the 1^st Asia Ballet Festival in Seoul, Korea (2006); held a special Gala performance with her partner SUN Shenyi (2008); Shanghai Literature and Art Award (2012, 2013); “Shanghai Top Ten Dancer of the Year” (2013); Shanghai Labor Medal (2013).
