:: Latest News::   Harvest from the Imagination of Staging Shanghai Ballet adopts incentive schemes to activate competence   (Reported by Xin Ming Evening news) Shanghai Ballet is trying to activate the atmosphere of choreographing new productions. The company plans to hold three performances of Festival Programs in three years. Recently, Shanghai Ballet performed Selective Programs in Majestic Theatre. In that excellent performance, the audience enjoyed modern dance Here and Now which were newly choreographed in 2004. In addition, modern ballet The Imagination of Red revived by JIN Xing, a renowned dancer in China, was put on the stage. “The reviving of The Imagination of Red is a kind of trial,” said Mr. HA Muti, Director of Shanghai Ballet, “We can know more about the taste of the audience through performances, and this offers us a way to create new productions to meet the needs of performing market.” As told by XIN Lili, Artistic Director of the company, “The three performances to be presented by Shanghai Ballet will feature in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Ballet and Folk Dance respectively.” Incentive schemes are adopted to encourage the dancers and teachers to create new productions which helps to enrich the programs on stage.   Back>>>
