FAN Xiaofeng
First Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet
National First-class Dancer

Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 1990, FAN became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 1996.

She has danced main roles in Swan Lake, Coppelia, Giselle, La Sylphide, The Nutcracker, The Butterfly Lovers, The White-haired Girl, A Sigh of Love and performed in Grand pas Classique, Don Quixote, George Balanchine’s Serenade, La Valse and modern pieces such as Red Fan, Never Synchronized Steps, etc.

She won Silver Prize of Junior Division in 1st Shanghai International Ballet Competition in 1995. She won the 1st Prize of Senior Division in National Selective Contest for International Ballet Competitions and Gold Medal of Senior Division in the 19th Varna International Ballet Competition, Bulgaria in 2000. She won the Second Prize and Best Pas de Deux Award in 2nd Shanghai International Ballet Competition with her partner SUN Shenyi in 2001. She was invited as guest principal by Australia National Ballet. She was invited to perform in the 1st Asia Ballet Festival in Seoul Korea in 2006.

She was awarded the title of "Shanghai New Star of Culture" in 1999.

 
SUN Shenyi
First Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet
National First-class Dancer


Entering the Shanghai Dance Academy in 1990, SUN became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after his graduation in 1996.

He has danced main roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppelia, La Sylphide, The White-haired Girl, The Butterfly Lovers, A Sigh of Love andalso performed in Grand pas Classique, The Flame of Paris, Paquita, Tchaikovsky pas de deux, George Balanchine’s Serenade and modern pieces The Red Fan, Never Synchronized Steps, etc.

He won 3rd Prize of Junior Division in 1st Shanghai international Ballet Competition in 1995; 3rd Prize of Junior Division in the 17th Varna International Ballet Competition, Bulgaria in 1996; Gold Medal of Senior Division in the 19th Varna International Ballet Competition, Bulgaria, and Special Award of Mrs. President; Best Modern Dance Choreography Award in 2000; First Prize of Senior Division and the Best Pas De Deus Award in 2nd Shanghai International Ballet Competition in 2001.He was invited to perform at the opening gala performance of the 5th Japan International Ballet & Modern Dance Competition. He also performed in the Memorial Gala Performances of the competition to be held in Tokyo and other 8 cities in Japan in 2005. He was invited as guest dancer at the gala of the 9th Paris International Dance Competition in 2000. He was invited to perform in the 1st Asia Ballet Festival in Seoul Korea in 2006.

He was awarded the title of "Shanghai New Star of Culture" in 2000.

 
JI Pingping
First Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet
National First-class Dancer

Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 1986, JI became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 1992.

She has danced main roles in The Nutcracker, Giselle, Swan Lake, Coppelia, La Sylphide, Romeo & Juliet, The White-haired Girl, The Butterfly Lovers, A Sigh of Love and performed Solo The Dying Swan, Pas de Quatre, pas de deux Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s La Valse etc.

She won Gold Medal in the 9th Paris International Dance Competition (Classical) in 2000. She was invited to perform in the 1st Asia Ballet Festival in Seoul Korea in 2006.

She was awarded the title of "Shanghai New Star of Culture" in 2002.

 
WU Husheng
Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet
National First-class Dancer

Entering the Shanghai Dance Academy in 1997, WU became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after his graduation in 2003.

He has danced main roles in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Coppelia, La Sylphide, The White-haired Girl, A Sigh of LoveThe Butterfly Lovers and performed important pieces in Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote. He also performed Pas de Quatre, George Balanchine’s Serenade, La Valse and modern pieces Conversation with Chopin, Web5, The Song of the Mother etc.

He won the Special Jury Awards in June 2004. He was invited to be the performer in the 1st Asia Ballet Festival in Seoul Korea in 2006. In June 2007 in the 9th New York International Ballet Competition, he won the Silver (no gold medal given) and the Igor Youskevitch Award. He won the Gold Medal in the 4th Shanghai International Ballet Competition in August 2007.

 
YU Xiaowei
Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet

Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 1994, YU became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 1990.

She has danced main roles in Swan Lake, Coppelia, The White-haired Girl and danced important pieces in La Sylphide, The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, The Butterfly Lovers, A Sigh of Love and performed Pas de Deux La Corsair, Grand Pas de Deux and Modern Dance Fabril, George Balanchine’s La Valse etc.

She was the Finalist in 2nd Shanghai International Ballet Competition and won the Gold Medal in 3rd Shanghai International Ballet Competition.

 
CHEN Yan
Principal Dancer of the Shanghai Ballet

Entering the Shanghai Dance School in 1990, CHEN became a dancer of the Shanghai Ballet after her graduation in 1996.

She has danced main roles in Giselle Swan Lake and The White-haired Girl, and performed important Solo in The Nutcracker,Coppelia, La Sylphide, Romeo & Juliet, The Butterfly Lovers and A Sigh of Love. She also danced George Balanchine’s Serenade and La Valse etc.
